Optimizing Chemical Tanker Performance: The Role of Cargo Control Operations and Crew Discipline

This study analyzes the impact of cargo control operations during Caustic Soda (CCS) loading/unloading and crew discipline on Motor Tanker operational performance at a South Korean shipping company. A quantitative survey approach was utilized, involving 35 crew members directly responsible for cargo handling. Data were analyzed through multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing via SPSS. Cargo control operations and crew discipline partially and simultaneously exert a positive, significant effect on operational performance, explaining 86.5% of the variance. Optimizing cargo control technology and enforcing strict crew discipline are crucial synergies for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of vessels transporting hazardous chemical cargoes. The small sample size and specific focus on CCS cargo within one company may restrict the generalizability of these findings to other vessel types or cargo scales. This research provides strategic insights into maritime operational management, contributing empirical evidence on high-risk handling procedures for hazardous liquid chemicals.

Digital evolution in aviation: A systematic exploration of trends, challenges, and opportunities

The aviation and tourism industries are undergoing a significant digital revolution due to developments in technology and changes in customer behavior. This report presents a thorough analysis of these industries’ complex characteristics via a methodical examination of the existing research. It highlights the crucial role played by digital initiatives in transforming the travel industry, especially before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Furthermore, this report highlights the aviation and tourism industries’ global reach through a multi country research approach, underscoring the importance of cross-cultural insights. Emphasizing scientific rigor, survey-based methodologies are frequently employed to examine consumer behavior in the digital age. This report also reveals the crucial role of leading journals in disseminating innovative research, thereby demonstrating the academic significance of this rapidly evolving field. Key digital marketing strategies, such as online reviews, social media marketing, and online reservations, are identified, with a strong focus on cross-cultural considerations. In addition, this report provides an overview of the present research trends and identifies areas requiring further research. It also proposes future research directions in line with the theory, methodology, and context (TMC) framework, focusing on important emerging topics and aspects that remain underexplored.

Sosialisasi Pentingnya Kepemimpinan Transformasional dalam Mendukung Kinerja dan Membangun Tim Kerja

Perubahan  lingkungan  kerja  yang  semakin  dinamis  menuntut  organisasi  untuk  memiliki  sumber  daya manusia  yang  tidak  hanya  kompeten,  tetapi  juga  mampu  bekerja  secara  kolaboratif  dalam  mencapai  tujuan bersama. Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam mendukung hal tersebut adalah penerapan kepemimpinan transformasional. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan meningkatkan kesadaran peserta mengenai pentingnya kepemimpinan transformasional dalam meningkatkan kinerja serta membangun tim kerja yang kuat dan solid. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 April 2026 dengan menggunakan  metode  presentasi  dan  diskusi  tanya jawab.  Peserta  kegiatan  berjumlah  sekitar  30  orang  yang berasal  dari  berbagai  latar  belakang,  meliputi  mahasiswa,  fresh  graduate,  praktisi,  dan  profesi  lainnya.  Mitra kegiatan merupakan perusahaan konsultan keuangan yang memiliki fokus pada pengembangan calon pemimpin dalam  bidang  perencanaan  keuangan.Hasil  pelaksanaan  kegiatan  menunjukkan  bahwa  peserta  memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai konsep, manfaat, dan penerapan kepemimpinan transformasional dalam lingkungan  organisasi.  Selain  itu,  pesertajuga  memahami pentingnya  komunikasi  yang efektif,  motivasi,  serta kerja  sama  tim  dalam  mendukung  pencapaian  tujuan  organisasi.  Kegiatan  ini  berhasil  meningkatkan  wawasan peserta terkait peran pemimpin dalam mengembangkan potensi anggota tim dan menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang produktif. Dengan demikian, kegiatan PkM ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam penguatan kompetensi kepemimpinan  serta  peningkatan  kesiapan  peserta  dalam  menghadapi  berbagai  tantangan  organisasi  dan  dunia kerja.

Determinants of Competitive Performance in the Indonesian Freight Forwarding Industry: Integration, Embeddedness, and Innovation

The global logistics industry is transforming operational functions into strategic capabilities to create competitive advantage. However, rapid market growth in Indonesia has not been fully matched by adequate organizational capabilities, leading to the "fragmented capability" phenomenon that hinders firm competitiveness. This study aims to analyze how supply chain integration, digital logistics, and network embeddedness simultaneously influence innovation performance and competitive performance in Indonesian freight forwarding companies. This study employs a quantitative explanatory research design involving 201 respondents in managerial positions, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using a Structural Equation Modeling approach based on Partial Least Squares. The research results show that supply chain integration and network embeddedness significantly improve innovation performance, and that network embeddedness and innovation performance directly enhance competitive performance. Conversely, supply chain integration has no significant direct influence on competitive performance, indicating that its role is more of a supporting capability that must be transformed through innovation. This study concludes that competitive advantage is determined not only by operational integration but by the organization's ability to convert those capabilities into valuable innovations. Companies are advised to prioritize strengthening innovation and strategic partnerships to increase access to market opportunities.
